Responsibilities
- Read sketches & blueprints to calculate materials required
- Measure and construct corners first, using a plumb line & mason's level to ensure level layers
- Spread mortar and prepare and lay bricks, concrete blocks or other masonry units
- Cut and trim bricks & concrete blocks to specification using hand & power tools
- Understand properties of various mortars & other bonding materials, and how to handle different masonry units
